Eyelid surgery (Blepharoplasty)

Eyelid surgery known as (blepharoplasty) is a surgery performed to improve the appearance of the eyelids, and this surgery can be performed either to beautify and tighten the upper eyelids, or to tighten the lower eyelids only, or to beautify both eyelids together.

This operation may be performed to correct some functional problems that occur on the eyelid due to its sagging and sagging, and through it the surgeon can restore youth and vitality to the area around the eyes

How the operation is done

-The eyelid surgery incision lines are designed by the surgeon so that the resulting scars are well hidden within the natural structures of the eyelid area.
-Correction of the upper eyelid through an incision inside the natural crease on the eyelid.
-This allows to remove or reposition fat deposits, tighten muscles and remove excess skin.
-Correct lower eyelid conditions with an incision just below the lower lash line.
-Through this incision, excess skin in the lower eyelid is removed. -Again, the excess fat can be repositioned or removed.
-The eyelid incisions are usually closed with sutures or skin glue.
-The stitches are removed within one week.
-If you suffer from sagging eyelids, the surgeon may work on the upper lids first, where the surgeon will separate the skin from the underlying tissues and remove the excess fat and skin, and the surgeon will close these incisions.
-The sutures in the upper lids will remain for 3 days to 6 days. Bottom covers may or may not require stitches

The recovery phases

-You will have stitches in all the covers that will last for a week It is common to have swelling and sometimes bruising

-The eyelids should appear normal within a week or two

-The results of upper eyelid surgery can last for at least 5 to 7 years.

-The lower eyelid surgery rarely needs to be repeated, and in the event that the eyelids sag again, a forehead lift or lift operation here can be better than an eyelid lift
